Canyon of the Eagles back in November

Shawn and I spent a couple days in Marble Falls for our 10 year anniversary in November 2011. We drove up to Burnet and went hiking at Canyon of the Eagles. It was a drizzly day, but the leaves had changed and a hike to the middle of the lake really showed off the drought. We checked out the camp sites even though we were not camping. The sites were at the end of a gravel road near the hotel. I use the term hotel loosely as it is more of a collection of cabins around a central building that houses the lobby and a restaurant. There is also a pool and it overlooks the lake. The campsites are fairly primitive and do not have showers or individual water spigots. Looked like a fun place to bring boys to fish and boat in what was left of the lake. We hiked a couple trails and thought the terrain was very pretty. The trails were well maintained and easy to follow.
